India cooperated in the war of independence for their own interests: Mahidur Rahman

Moulvibazar Correspondent //

BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Mahidur Rahman said, India never wants to see this country as a successful state. They cooperated in the war of independence for their own interests, not ours. They wanted peace only if undivided Pakistan could be divided into two. They could never tolerate Pakistan. That is why they got involved in this geopolitics. The reflection of which is now emerging. We want to see India as a friendly country. The people of both countries also want this.

Their friends, who smuggled thousands of crores of the country’s money abroad during the period of the fallen fascist government, are now spending various propaganda to tarnish the image of the country. They are still walking around the country with heroism and trying to create an unstable situation in the country by spending that black money.

Referring to Bangladesh as a role model of communal harmony in the world, he said, India and its Awami League supporters are trying to destroy it through various propaganda including temple and Hindu persecution. India is showing diplomatic relations with Bangladesh with an aggressive attitude. It is certainly condemnable. He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at a view-sharing program at the Moulvibazar Press Club Hall on Saturday, December 14 afternoon.

Mahidur Rahman also said that Moin Uddin and Fakhar Uddin were friends of the autocratic Sheikh Hasina. They came to power through conspiracy. To destroy the democratic politics of the country. For these 15-17 years, people did not have freedom of speech, voting rights, democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights. Politicians could not practice politics constitutionally. India played a strong role behind this.

Under the chairmanship of Moulvibazar Press Club Convener Bakshi Iqbal Ahmed and moderated by Member Secretary Sheikh Sirajul Islam Siraj, senior journalists SM Umed Ali, Azadur Rahman Azad, Bakshi Misbah Ur Rahman, Syed Humayed Ali Shahin, Ahmed Faruk Millad, Mu. Imad Ud Din, MA Hamid, Md. Shahajan Mia, Mahbubur Rahman Rahel, Syed Momsad Ahmed, Moktadir Hossain, Md. Salahuddin, Ali Hossain Rajan and others spoke on the current context of the country and the overall issues of Moulvibazar. At the beginning of the program, a 1-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyred intellectuals and those who died in the 2nd independence of 1924.
