The last address of Muslims is the cemetery. But influential former chairman Bagal Mia and his brother Akhter Mia are forcibly cutting and selling soil from this cemetery.

It is learned that Bagal Mia, son of the deceased Tota Mia of Rajiura village, and his brother are forcibly cutting and selling soil elsewhere in the daytime using excavators and tractors from the government cemetery of JL No. 113, Khatian No. 101, Dag No. 249, 227 and 250. Seeking redress in this matter, Md. Madhu Mia filed a complaint with the Upazila Executive Officer on behalf of the locals. In it, he mentioned that the cemetery belongs to the locals. They have been using it for various purposes including planting saplings and filling it with soil a year ago. But former chairman Bagal and his brother are using the influence of the Awami League to remove the signboard from the cemetery and are cutting and smuggling the soil. This has turned the cemetery into a pit. The locals have demanded appropriate action in this regard.
