A farmer named Milad Mia (28) died in a lightning strike while harvesting paddy in Moulvibazar. The deceased’s father Taj Uddin (60) and brothers Tanvir (15) and Imad (21) were injured during the incident.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Akhailkura Union of Sadar Upazila of Moulvibazar district.
According to locals and hospital sources, Milad (28) was harvesting Boro paddy near his house with his father and brothers when the lightning struck four of them.
When the locals rescued the injured and took them to Moulvibazar 250-bed hospital, the doctor on duty declared farmer Milad Mia dead. The two injured were admitted to the hospital.
Dr. Faisluzzaman, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Moulvibazar 250-bed General Hospital, confirmed the matter.
