The United States has expanded military medical cooperation with Bangladesh. The country’s military’s senior medical leadership has engaged with the Bangladesh Army’s medical forces to expand partnerships and build future collaborative capabilities.
The US Embassy in Dhaka said on Thursday (January 22) that Maj. Gen. E. Darrin Cox, commanding general of the 18th Theater Medical Command of the US Army Pacific, visited Bangladesh from January 18 to 22. The aim of his visit is to strengthen the partnership in the medical sector with the Bangladesh Army’s medical forces.
US Embassy spokesperson Purnima Roy said the engagement supports the goals of the US Indo-Pacific Command and Army Pacific to strengthen military health cooperation and develop partner capabilities.
He said that during the visit, Major General Cox held meetings in Dhaka and visited the Jalalabad Cantonment and the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Sylhet.
He added that these engagements have laid the foundation for future joint exercises and expert exchanges in critical medical fields. Major General Cox’s visit highlights the United States’ ongoing commitment to strategic health cooperation in Bangladesh.
