He said this while talking to reporters after visiting the Buchai Pagla shrine in Batulia area of Sanora union in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka on Friday (January 23) morning. Earlier, he participated in prayers at the shrine.

Shafiqul Alam said, ‘With the yes vote, tyranny, lawlessness and oppression will not return to the country; civil rights and a just governance system will be ensured.’

The press secretary said, ‘The Election Commission has said that there will be no problem with voting. However, counting of votes may take some time.’

Shafiqul Alam urged voters to participate in the voting process calmly and patiently.

Regarding the shrine, the Press Secretary said, “The shrine of Buchai Pagla is a symbol of communal harmony. Attacking or vandalizing the shrine is a highly condemnable act.”
