Police drones are playing a pivotal role in the security arrangements for the President’s visit to Sylhet. In addition to surveillance via 108 CCTV cameras, aerial monitoring will be conducted using drones. Md. Afzal Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (CTSB) of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), confirmed this information.

He stated that the SMP is fully committed to ensuring the President’s security. Airtight security measures have been implemented across Sylhet city. As part of this, police personnel—both in uniform and plainclothes—are on duty. Simultaneously, the city situation will be monitored through CCTV cameras, and areas visited by the President will be kept under aerial surveillance by drones.

He further added that the CRT (Crisis Response Team), bomb disposal units, and striking teams will also be deployed to ensure the President’s safety.

Meanwhile, approximately 1,200 police personnel will be responsible for security during the President’s visit. Special traffic management measures have also been adopted to maintain the normal flow of traffic.
