Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government is working tirelessly to achieve the ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ by 2030, a developed-prosperous Smart Bangladesh by 2041 and the ‘Delta Plan’ by 2100.
He said this on Saturday in a speech on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of Awami League. On this occasion, he extended his best wishes and congratulations to all party leaders, supporters, well-wishers and countrymen.
Sheikh Hasina said, I remember with deep respect Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali father of the nation. Remembering Awami League founder president Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani and general secretary Samsul Haque and other leaders. We remember with respect Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, the four national leaders, freedom movement, martyrs of the great liberation war, martyred Awami League leaders and activists in all democratic movements – in return for their sacrifices, we got an independent sovereign state and Awami League has become the largest organization of the lives of the people of Bangladesh.
He said, Awami League was established through a conference from June 23 to 24, 1949 at the Rose Garden of Dhaka with the aim of liberating the Bengali nation from the shackles of subjugation and achieving fair rights. The purpose of establishing the party was to achieve secularism and economic liberation, to ensure the reflection of public opinion in the governance of the state and to pave the way for world peace.
He said that young student leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was elected joint general secretary of the newly formed organization while in prison. For his political foresight and organizational activity, he was elected the party’s general secretary at its second conference in November 1953. After that, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became an undisputed leader in the question of leadership of Awami League using his wisdom, hard work, devotion, concentration and steadfast ideals.
The head of government said that just as Sheikh Mujib had to go through countless ups and downs to prepare the organization for achieving the freedom of the Bengali nation by erasing the history of rule and exploitation of thousands of years, he also had to sacrifice his personal life. In the course of time, he became the greatest Bengali of all time, Bangabandhu and the father of the Bengali nation.
He said that every achievement and achievement in this territory since its establishment has been under the leadership of the Father of the Nation and Awami League. Awami League is at the root of all the achievements of Bengali and all the development of Bangladesh, starting from protecting the dignity of mother tongue Bengal till today.
Sheikh Hasina said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib founded the Bangladesh Chhatra League on January 4, 1948. Right from birth, the organization played the most important role in the right to language education, establishment of Bengali autonomy, mass uprising against misrule and freedom movement.
He said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib was arrested on March 11, 1948 while picketing from Gate No. 1 of the Secretariat demanding ‘Bangla as the national language’. On his advice, calling for a strike in support of ‘Language Day’ on February 21, 1952 and the decision to violate Article 144 and declaring a hunger strike while in prison accelerated the achievement of the goals of the language movement. by doing The fruit of the cherished dream of a thousand years of Bengali- independent sovereign Bangladesh was established.
The Prime Minister said that our leaders, workers and supporters have made the Awami League an organization of the people by holding the ideals of the father of the nation and the spirit of the great liberation war.
He said, he believes that Awami League will be more dynamic and stronger with the talent, hard work, sacrifice and skills of its leaders and the hunger-poverty-free and happy-rich golden Bangladesh of the father of the nation’s dream will be established. Anti-independence sectarian groups and domestic and foreign evil forces against development and democracy are still conspiring in various ways. He is calling on the leaders and workers of all levels of the party to be always ready to protect the continuity of development and democracy by unitedly confronting any inaction-conspiracy of this evil power.
He wished all round success of all programs undertaken on the occasion of ’75th Foundation Anniversary of Bangladesh Awami League’.
