Top terrorist Sagar Talukdar and his accomplice Swapan Ahmed of Bogra’s Shajahanpur upazila were hacked to death by miscreants. On Sunday (September 22), this pair of murders took place in Shajahanpur’s Sabrul Bazar area around 7:30 pm.

Son of Gholam Mustafa of Sagar Sabrul area. Swapan is the son of Saiful Islam of the same area. Both of them are known volunteers league workers in the area.

Locals said that Sagar was hanging out with his 5-6 followers in front of a chicken farm in Sabrul Chhota Mandalpara area on Sunday evening. At that time, some youths came with 7-8 motorcycles and surrounded them. They kill Sagar and Swapan by cutting them with ramda and chapati and leave. 2 others were seriously injured in their attack.

According to law enforcement sources, Sagar was a truck helper just a century ago. Later he got involved in drug dealing and terrorism. There are numerous allegations against him including cutting off people’s hands, kidnapping, extortion. Sagar is accused in multiple murder cases. In September last year, Sagar killed local Awami League leader Shahjalal Parvez, a college teacher in Shahjahanpur area. In this case, Sagar got out of jail on bail a few days ago and started extortion in the area again. It is believed that Sagar may have been killed due to a dispute with a rival group.

SI Farooq Hossain of Shajahanpur police station confirmed the murder and said that efforts are on to identify and arrest the killers.
