Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said today’s Bangladesh is a changing Bangladesh. The youth will take this changing Bangladesh forward. The aim of the government now is to prepare students to take Bangladesh forward in the future.
He said this at the inauguration of three programs organized by the Ministry of Education at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Monday (June 24).
After the Awami League government came to power, the allocation in the education and research sector has been increased, the head of government said, there was only one university. We come to the government and open some universities. Since 2009, 54 private universities have been established in addition to 23 public universities. Sanitary toilets are provided in every educational institution.
At that time, he said that many people called the distribution of free books an impossible task, but the Awami League government made it possible. We are distributing free books since 2010. So far more than 464 crore books have been distributed for free.
The prime minister said that the signature rate during BNP’s tenure was 45 percent. We have raised that to 76.8 percent now. He also mentioned that increasing the budget in the education sector in the budget of the fiscal year 2024-25 will have a positive impact on the society.
Bangabandhu Creative Talent Search-2024 best meritorious award and ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Scholar Award-2023’ were given on the occasion.
Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury presided over the event, among others, Prime Minister’s Education and Cultural Affairs Adviser Dr. Kamal Abdul Nasser Chowdhury, Education State Minister Begum Shamsunnahar, Secondary and Higher Education Department Secretary Soleman Khan and others were present.
