RAB-9 arrested accused No. 28 in the murder case of Ripon Sheel, who was killed in the anti-discrimination student movement in Habiganj. A team of RAB-9 arrested him in front of Shaistaganj New Breeze Filling Station on the basis of secret information on Wednesday afternoon.

When the news of Sankhshubhra Roy’s arrest spread in the city, there was a storm of discussion and criticism. Many have commented that he was arrested while fleeing to neighboring India. It is also known that he was directly involved in the clash at the residence of former MP Abu Zahir on August 5.

He is the Secretary of Habiganj District Pea Owners Association and Labor Affairs Secretary of District Awami League. He is also the General Secretary of Habiganj District Puja Celebration Parishad, Vice President of District Sports Association and a resident of Kalibari Crossroad area of ​​the city.

On August 4, Ripon Sheel was shot dead in a clash between Awami League, police and students during the student movement in Habiganj city. In this incident, Ratan Sheel’s wife Ripon Sheel’s mother Ruby Rani Sheel filed a murder case naming 59 people including MP Abu Zahir as plaintiff.

Earlier, district Awami League joint general secretary former mayor Ataur Rahman Salim was arrested and sent to jail in that case.
A RAB official who did not wish to reveal his name said that he has been kept in the Shaistaganj RAB camp. He was waiting for the car at the new bridge. He was arrested on the basis of secret information. After interrogation, he was handed over to Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station at night.
Locals complained that Shankh Shubhra Roy held the post of General Secretary of Motor Owners Association more than once under the influence of Awami League government. Also, there are many allegations of corruption against him during his long tenure as General Secretary of Habiganj District Puja Celebration Parishad.
It is also known that he owns a shop named Meghna Offset as a notable member of the traditional Kalibari committee of Habiganj city. Because of that, the rent of the rented shops in Kalibari is being increased for a long time. He dominated that committee.
In this regard, the officer in charge of Habiganj Sadar police station Alamgir Kabir told The Daily Morning Sun that Shankh Shubhra Roy was handed over to RAB-9 police station around 9 pm. He was sent to jail by the court on Thursday.
