The annual competition and award distribution ceremony organized by Huffazul Quran Foundation Bangladesh was held with the participation of 350 students of 20 Hafezi and Qawmi Madrasas of Gournadi Upazila of the district.
The awards were distributed in the afternoon after the day-long competition yesterday at the hall of Chandshi Jamia Muhammadiya Majidia Madrasa in the upazila.
Alhaj Engineer Abdus Sobhan, a member of the BNP Central Executive Committee and BNP nominated candidate from Barisal-1 constituency in the 9th National Parliament election, was the chief guest at the award distribution ceremony presided over by Mufti Bayezit Ahmed, president of the foundation’s upazila branch. The special guests were the foundation’s district president Qari Faizullah Hussain, district BNP members Anwar Sadat Tota, Abdul Awal Lokman. BNP leader Abdul Malek Akon, upazila Juba Dal convener Monir Hossain Howlader, among others, spoke. At the end, crests, certificates, and prizes were distributed among the winners.
