Saraswati Puja, one of the religious festivals of the Hindu community, is tomorrow, Friday. Every year, this worship of the goddess is held on the fifth day of the bright moon of the month of Magh. Apart from educational institutions, countless devotees will offer flowers at the feet of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom, on the fifth day. They will offer their prayers at the feet of the goddess to dispel the darkness of ignorance.
Educational activities will be closed in educational institutions across the country on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. On this occasion, the Hindu community, especially students, will organize various religious programs including Bani Archana tomorrow.
Apart from worship, other programs in temples, mandap and important educational institutions across the country including the capital Dhaka include offering flowers, distributing prasad, religious discussions, cultural programs, evening aarti, lighting, etc.
Saraswati Puja has been organized at the central puja mandap of Dhakeshwari National Temple Melangon under the initiative of the Metropolitan Public Puja Committee. Here, idol installation will be done at 6 am, puja at 8 am, flower offering will be done at 9 pm, prasad will be distributed, evening aarti will be performed in the evening and illumination will be arranged at night.
In addition to the central puja mandap, puja mandap has been set up by various departments on the Jagannath Hall grounds of Dhaka University. Although different, Saraswati Puja is being organized separately. Saraswati Puja has been organized with great decoration on the Jagannath University grounds by various halls and departments.
Apart from this, Saraswati Puja and flower offerings will be offered at various temples and mandap of Old Dhaka including Ramna Kali Mandir and Maa Anandamayi Ashram in the capital, Siddheshwari Kali Mandir, Swamibag ISKCON Temple, Mirpur Central Temple, Taltala Temple and Wari Ramsita Temple, besides distributing Prasad. Discussion meetings and cultural programs will be held.
In a separate statement on the occasion of Saraswati Puja, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Presidents Professor Dr. Nimchandra Bhowmik, Ushatan Talukder and Nirmal Rosario, Acting General Secretary Manindra Kumar Nath, Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council President Basudeb Dhar, General Secretary Santosh Sharma and Metropolitan Universal Puja Committee President Jayant Kumar Deb and General Secretary Dr. Tapas Chandra Pal extended their greetings and best wishes to the Hindu community and the countrymen.
