Pre-primary temple-based teacher recruitment is going on in Sylhet using the name of ISKCON and ignoring government regulations. This immoral activity is going on at the Sylhet office at Puspayan-6, Rifat Complex, South Baluchar, MC College Road, Sylhet today, Sunday.
Several teacher candidates, who did not want to be named, told the reporter that several candidates from different upazilas of Sylhet have come to the South Baluchar temple-based children and mass education program in Sylhet office to take part in the written and peer tests. After passing the written test in the first stage, the oral peer test begins. Those in charge of the selection board are strategically leaving out those who are doing well and hiring ‘ISKCON’ followers. This is causing anger among the candidates. The candidates further alleged that the selection authority is excluding qualified candidates by engaging in lobbying and nepotism and replacing ineligible candidates.
Meanwhile, it has been found that after the autocratic Awami League government came to power, it has given the highest priority to this education policy. Since then, the organization has been conducting teacher recruitment activities in a relaxed environment as it pleases. Currently, it has reached the 6th stage and has called for the recruitment of one teacher each in 4 pre-primary education centers under Sylhet on a temporary basis. But it is mysterious but true that the organization is conducting teacher recruitment business on its own without publishing recruitment notices in any newspapers as per the usual rules. This has been alleged by traditional candidates hoping to get recruited. They further said that the organization itself hands over an application form to the candidates for job applications. The recruitment business is being conducted on the basis of that form. Although the entire matter is being conducted by the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, Ministry of Religious Affairs, no rules are being followed. This is how the temple-based pre-primary teacher recruitment program is going on. In this, the officials in charge of selection have indulged in the recruitment business without any transparency or accountability.
To know about this, Assistant Project Director and President, Center Teacher Recruitment Committee-2, Kishore Kumar Mandal, in charge of the cell phone, told the reporter, “I am now taking the names of the examinees, I do not have any such information. If you want to know anything, you can contact the Dhaka Head Office, Shahbhag.” In response to another question, he said, “Where did you get my number?” He tried to cover up the whole matter and avoid it.
