Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a surprise visit to Chechnya to see the preparations of the Chechen army and volunteers for the war against Ukraine. Muslim-dominated Chechnya is a part of Russia. Putin stepped into the country after 13 years without prior announcement on Tuesday.
During the visit, the Russian president kissed a copy of the Holy Quran, the holy book of Muslims, at a mosque in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic. At that time, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov was also with him.
This copy of the Quran is originally gold plated. After seeing it, the Russian president kissed it. Then Ramzan Kadyrov and Salah Mezhiev took pictures hugging the Quran.
Mufti Salah Mezhiyev is the supreme religious leader of Muslim-majority Chechnya and the chairperson of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the Chechen Republic.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to the troops at the Russian Special Forces University premises. “As long as we have people like you, we are definitely, definitely invincible,” Putin said there.
He also said, “Here, it is never the same thing to operate a gun in a safe environment and to endanger one’s health and life in the battlefield.” But there is an urge in your heart to protect the motherland. And have the courage to make decisions accordingly. Source: Meher News Agency.
