The court has granted 5 days and 10 days remand to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s private industry and investment adviser Salman F Rahman, former law minister Anisul Haque and army officer Ziaul Ahsan in separate cases in the murder case of Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first year student of Ideal College.
Police produced them in the court at 7:30 pm on Saturday. On this day, Sub-Inspector of Lalbagh Police Station requested to remand him for 10 days for proper investigation of the case.
After the hearing, the Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka. Jasim’s court granted their remand.
According to court sources, the court granted remand for 5 days in the case of murder of Ideal College student Khaled Saifullah filed at Lalbagh Police Station and 5 days in the case of murder of Dhaka College student Sabul Ali at New Market Police Station.
Police arrested Salman F Rahman and former Law Minister Anisul Haque from the capital’s Sadarghat area on the basis of secret information on August 13. The next day, the court granted them a 10-day remand in the murder case of Newmarket police station. And Ziaul Ahsan was arrested late at night on August 15 from Khilkhet area of Dhaka. The next day, the court granted his 8-day remand.
According to the complaint of the case, Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first year student of Ideal College, was shot dead in the Azimpur government residential area of Lalbagh on July 18 during the anti-discrimination student movement. In this incident, his father Kamrul Hasan filed a murder case at Lalbagh police station on August 19.
