The courageous role of Jugantor in the student-public movement will be remembered at the silver jubilee celebration of Dainik Jugantor in Srimangal in Moulvibazar district. The speakers said that since its establishment, the newspaper has been able to continue its promise to the readers by keeping in mind the slogan ‘Fearless in the search for truth’. The newspaper has gained the trust and popularity of the readers due to its portrayal of various social anomalies. The suffering people of the state and society are benefiting from Jugantor’s investigative news. Especially, the courageous role played by Jugantor’s journalists in the student-public movement of July-August will be remembered in history.

The guests spoke these words at the conference room of the Srimangal Press Club on College Road at 9 pm on Wednesday (February 19). On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Jugantar, a discussion meeting and cake cutting ceremony were organized at the Srimangal Press Club on College Road.

The event was moderated by Syed Salauddin, Joint General Secretary of Srimangal Press Club and Jugantar Srimangal Representative, and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Yusuf spoke as the chief guest.

Dr. Sajjad Hossain Chowdhury, newly transferred Health and Family Planning Officer of Srimangal Upazila Health Complex, Abul Fazal Abdul Hai Don, President (Acting) of Srimangal Press Club, former Vice President Kawsar Iqbal, Publisher and Editor of RP News Syed Amiruzzaman spoke as special guests at the event.

The invited guests who spoke included Saiful Islam, Moulvibazar correspondent of Daily Kaler Kantho, MA Rakib, Srimangal correspondent of Daily Naya Diganta, Syed Sayed Ahmed of Ittefaq, Anwar Hoses Jasim of Inqilab, Ehsan Bin Muzahir, treasurer of Srimangal Press Club and Daily Khola Kagoj, Abuzar Rahman Babla of Amadre Zom, Mizanur Rahman Alam of Sylhet Bani, Muslim Chowdhury of Daily Anandabazar and The Daily Morning Sun, Amjad Hossain Bachchu of Bhorer Dak, Rubel Ahmed of Dinkaler, Shamsul Ilam Shamim of Jabbadihir, Aurobindo Dev of Notun Din, Kawsar Ahmed of Rupali Bangladesh, Al Amin of Chayer Janapad, Sumon Ahmed of Vastaran, journalists Dewan Masukur Rahman, Imran Hossain, Bappi Dey and NGO worker Eklasur Rahman among others. At the beginning of the program, Syed Hossain Ayan, son of the representative of Srimangal Jugantar, recited from the Holy Quran.
