Famous Australian singer Sia is ending her two-year marriage to her second husband, Daniel Bernard. The 49-year-old musician has been separated from her husband for a while now and filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday.
The ‘Chandelier’ singer cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their separation, according to a report by Female First.
According to court documents, the popular star secretly gave birth to a child, which is Sia and Bernard’s first child. Their son was born on March 27, 2024.
Sia previously adopted two teenagers in 2019. However, this time she has filed for legal and physical custody of their newborn son. The singer wants Daniel to take care of their child.
Sia and Daniel got engaged in December 2022 and tied the knot in May 2023 in a private, candlelit ceremony in Portofino, Italy, with just six guests in attendance.
Sia was previously married to Erik Anders Lang from 2014 to 2016.
She began her career in music in the mid-1990s as the lead singer of the acid jazz band Crisp. After the band broke up in 1997, she released her first solo album, Only C, in Australia.
She then moved to London and sang for the British band Zero 7. In 2001, she released her second solo album, Healing Is Difficult, and in 2004, her third album, Color the Small One.
