An official of the Chief Adviser’s office said that the current government will hold discussions with the leaders of the political parties after taking charge.
After taking oath of the interim government on August 8, he held a meeting with the top leaders of various political parties including BNP, Jamaat. Muhammad Yunus. Leaders of various political parties including BNP and Jamaat were invited there, but none of the ousted Awami League government or the 14-party coalition led by them were seen.
For a few days, leaders of some like-minded parties, including BNP, have been making statements asking to know the roadmap of the chief adviser for organizing the next elections.
In the speech given to the nation last Sunday about the election, the chief adviser said. Muhammad Yunus said that when the elections will be held is a completely political decision, not our decision. Citizens have to decide when you will leave us. We have come at the call of students. They are our primary employer. The vast masses of the country have supported our appointment. We will constantly remind everyone of this, so that the question does not suddenly arise – when will we go. When they say, we will leave.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said in a press conference on Wednesday that the interim government should hold a dialogue with the political parties.
