Companyganj (Sylhet) Representative //
A man named Bappi (35) was murdered in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet district. The police is continuing to trace the address of the deceased.
The incident took place today Friday (August 30) at around two o’clock in the afternoon in Kamalchhara area, bordering Bholaganj Sadapathar of the upazila.
It is known that on Friday, two persons named Bappi and Taj Uddin went for a walk to Bholaganj Sadapathar area from Shahjalal (RA) shrine in Sylhet city. At one point, when they reached the Kamalchhara area on the border around two o’clock in the afternoon, there was an argument between them about 700 taka. Meanwhile, Taj Uddin got angry and hit Bappi on the head with a stone, killing him on the spot. Later, he himself went to the local BGB camp and told about the murder, and he was arrested.
The arrested person is Taj Uddin (23), son of deceased Farid Mia of Balaikandi village of Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj district.
Meanwhile, the Companyganj police station reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident, prepared a surathal report, recovered the dead body and sent it to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Confirming the truth of this incident to The Daily Morning Sun, the officer in charge of Companyganj police station Badiuzzaman said that Taj Uddin, who was in the custody of BGB, was arrested and brought to the police station after the body of the deceased was recovered. He said that the arrested person knew the name of the deceased Bappi but could not give any address. However, he also said that the police are working to identify him.
