The Bangladesh-Bhutan match has been played on June 4. However, questions have been raised about the security of that match again and again. The chaos that occurred at various times during that match is the main reason for this. To ensure that something similar does not happen in the Singapore match, the police SWAT force is rehearsing at the National Stadium today.

In the Bhutan match, spectators broke through the main gate and entered the stadium. Then chaos broke out during the match. Spectators climbed the fence in front of the gallery and entered the field. As a result, many questions have been raised about the security of the match.

The BFF has learned from all such incidents. Bangladesh will play against Singapore in the Asian Cup qualifiers on June 10. The federation has strengthened security in that match so that the incidents of the Bhutan match do not happen again.

A special unit of the Bangladesh Police, SWAT, will be stationed around the stadium and inside the field. The SWAT is rehearsing at the National Stadium on Monday. This force will also look after the issue of security and discipline on the match day.

On Sunday, BFF Competition Committee Chairman Golam Gaus told the media, “Today, the stadium and various gates were inspected along with the match commissioner. Tomorrow at 11 am, the SWAT will rehearse at the stadium. We are also in constant contact with the DMP.”

The problem of security is nothing new in Bangladeshi football. BFF has had to pay fines several times due to the behavior of spectators at Bashundhara Kings Arena.

If the same incident is repeated at Bangabandhu Stadium, it may be included in the match commissioner’s report. As a result, the sword of punishment may also come down on BFF. That is why BFF is paying attention to security and management, and additional people are being kept to look after these issues. Gaus said that this is why more manpower will be on the field for the Singapore match than for the Bhutan match.
