Dhaka //
127.711 crore citizens of the country will get the opportunity to exercise their voting rights in the 13th National Parliament Election and referendum on state reforms.
The Election Commission (EC) confirmed this information by releasing the final voter list by constituency on Thursday (January 22).
EC Public Relations Director Md. Ruhul Amin Mallick said that this time the number of male voters is 64.825 crore 151, and female voters are 62.885 crore 524. In addition, the list also includes 1,120 Hijra voters.
Constituency-wise voter situation-
The commission is working with special emphasis on election management. Out of the 300 parliamentary constituencies, Gazipur-2 constituency has the highest number of voters at 84.333, which is comparatively the highest. On the other hand, Jhalakathi-1 constituency has the lowest number of voters, with a total of 228,431 voters.
The EC Secretariat said that the initial work of printing ballot papers and setting up polling stations according to the number of voters in each constituency is progressing rapidly. Since voters will have to vote on two different issues this time, extra caution and extra time may be required in the collection and counting of votes.
Security and legal measures-
The EC has said that for strict implementation of the electoral code of conduct—
* Giving any gift or inducement during the election is a punishable offense.
* If there is any complication or court order regarding the candidacy of any candidate, the process of immediate implementation will be active.
New dimension: Voter participation
The participation of new voters and the exercise of voting rights by expatriates in this election is expected to add a new dimension to the political arena. To ensure the safety of voters and transparent voting, the EC is holding regular coordination meetings with the law enforcement agencies.
In this way, the Election Commission is ready to make the entire process fair, safe and transparent. This time, voting is not only a duty for the voters, but also an important responsibility for the future of the country.
