We all want to move forward together: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir

Dhaka //

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘We want to take the whole of Bangladesh forward as a forward-looking Bangladesh based on justice and fairness. We do not want to bite our backs anymore; and we do not want to divide the nation. We all want to move forward together.’

The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir said these things before starting his election public relations campaign in Dhaka-15 constituency in the capital’s North Kafrul area on Wednesday (January 28) afternoon.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir said to the BNP candidate in that constituency, ‘I have a rival here. There are many, but there is one special rival. I welcome him. Come to the field, let’s all take our campaign forward; beautifully, politely, calmly, and in an orderly manner. We all respect everyone and we spread each other’s words to the world. We place our trust in the people. Let’s not take the burden of trust in our own hands. Whoever the people like, we will all like and welcome him.’

Shafiqur Rahman, highlighting the various problems of his constituency, said, ‘We hope that we can collectively build an ideal area with the locals. There are many problems here. Waterlogging problems, road problems, school-college problems. There is no university here, no hospital of ideal quality, no playground, no park, no walkway, no place to rest or exercise. There are many such problems. Alhamdulillah, we have created a vision for this area. We will solve it with everyone. Please pray for us.’

The Jamaat Amir said, ‘I hold this area in my heart. I dream about this area, just like I dream about the entire country. However, since I will be elected from here, I dream separately for it. I am trying to bring every problem here to my mind. If Allah gives the opportunity, by His grace and by the people’s verdict and vote, then we will try to develop this area as an ideal area, God willing.’

The Amir of the Jamaat, Kafrul, wished for the development of the high school and said, ‘When I entered, the children received me today. I am simply overwhelmed today.’
