File photo. The 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam will start on July 2 and end on August 8. Urgent instructions have been given to the officers in charge of the center to hold this year’s (2026) HSC exam in a fair and cheating-free environment. The instructions include 35 instructions including the exam schedule, distribution of question papers, preservation of notebooks, number of seats for students on a bench according to size, which calculators can be used, and toilet searches.
This information was revealed from a letter published on the website of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board on Sunday (June 14, 2026). The letter has been sent to all the center supervisors and officers in charge of the HSC exam 2026 under the Dhaka Education Board.
What is said in the instructions—
1.
Regular (session 2024-25) candidates will take part in the examination using the question paper prepared according to the full syllabus of the HSC examination approved by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board for the year 2026.
2.
Irregular/Quality Improvement (session 2023-24 and earlier) candidates will take part in the examination using the question paper prepared according to the syllabus of the HSC examination approved by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board for the year 2025.
3.
The examination will start at 10 am and 2 pm as per the examination schedule.
4.
The question paper packet kept in the treasury or in the trunk of the police station locker must be properly verified with the question paper details list three days before the start of the examination. Question paper packet verification – The concerned Treasury Officer, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Officer-in-Charge of the center and members of the examination management committee must be present.
5.
2 sets of question papers, creative (CQ) and multiple choice (MCQ) sets, should be packed separately in security envelopes according to the date of the examination.
6.
On the day of verification of the question paper packets, the date-wise question paper packets should be arranged in the security envelopes, gummed and properly wrapped in carton tape in the presence of the concerned persons and the date of the examination, subject code and set code should be written on the security envelope. If any error is observed in this regard, it will be considered as negligence of the officers in charge of the center.

On the examination days, the envelopes of the question papers of that day (2 sets of creative and 1 set of multiple choice) should be received from the treasury from the treasury officer.

The question paper packets (security envelopes) should be brought to the center with great caution from the police station/treasury along with the tag officer and police guard.
9.
After receiving the SMS of the set code on the mobile phone, after showing it to the responsible tag officer, police officer, after confirming the set code and signing the foil packet with an indelible pen, the packet of question papers should be opened and the packet of question papers of the other set should be removed from the table and locked in a trunk. The envelope of the unused set of question papers should be submitted to the board intact. If the exam is taken with a question paper of any other set code instead of the prescribed set code, departmental peace action will be taken.
10.
No one other than the officer-in-charge of the center will be allowed to enter the center with a mobile phone/electronic device.
11.
For every 20 examinees, 1 room inspector will be on duty in the examination room and at least two will be on duty in each room.
12.
Two seats should be arranged on each bench of 5 to 6 feet length and one on a bench of 4 feet length. No exception can be made under any circumstances.
13.
Candidates will enter the center from 8:30 am and arrangements must be made to allow the candidate to enter the examination room 30 minutes before the start of the examination. If any candidate arrives after this time, the officer in charge of the center can, with special consideration, record the roll number and other information in the register book and allow them to enter the center. The register book must be submitted to the board after the examination.
14.
Before the start of the examination, effective measures must be taken to ensure that candidates, guardians or anyone else cannot create a mess outside the examination center, and if necessary, a hand microphone must be used.
15.
The counterfeit prevention poster provided by the board must be placed at a visible place at the entrance to the examination center.
16.
The officers in charge will receive the admit cards of the institutions under their center from the Dhaka Education Board and will ensure that the admit cards are handed over to each institution at least 10 days before the start of the examination.
17.
The necessary materials for the examination must be received on the date specified by the Dhaka Education Board.
18.
Incorrect answer sheets cannot be provided to the candidates.
19.
No calculator other than the one approved by the Education Board can be used.
20. On the day of the examination, the Tag Officer must be involved in all the work including receiving the question papers, transporting them and opening the packets in the room of the officer-in-charge of the center. The travel and honorarium of the Tag Officer will be arranged by the officer-in-charge of the center from the center fee.
21.
The signature of the candidate must be taken on the attendance sheet. If any candidate is absent, the specific date and subject must be written.
22.
The examination will be conducted on the specified date as per the examination schedule. The answer sheet packets will reach the script room of the examination branch of the board in sealed bags.
23.
The police will be involved in the transportation of the examination question papers and answer sheets.
24.
50 answer sheets each according to the old and new syllabus should be packed in corrugated sheets. Under no circumstances can the answer sheets of the new and old syllabus be packed together.
25.
The Central Secretary will be responsible for any marks or extra writing on the answer sheet packets.
26.
Separate packets should be made for the answer sheets of each subject. The candidates of the English version must take the exam in the English version question paper. The answer sheet packets of the candidates of the English version will be separate. The written answer sheets of the candidates with special needs should be packed separately, labeled and submitted with the mention of ‘Special Candidates’.
27.
If there is any error in the admit card of the candidate, it must be corrected by the concerned branch of the education board within 5 working days of receiving the admit card.
28.
All classes of the institution will be closed during the examination, but after the examination is over and on the day when there is no examination in the schedule, regular class activities will be allowed to continue.
29.
No subject other than the subject mentioned in the registration card and admit card of the candidate will be accepted for examination. If any complication arises in this regard, the officer-in-charge of the center will be responsible for it.
30.
The toilets of the center will be searched immediately after the start of the examination and if any kind of fake material is found, it will be thrown away.
31.
No other person will be allowed inside the examination center during the examination except the officer/employee in charge of the examination and the observer.
32.
The name and mobile number of the teacher/official/employee/tag officer involved in transporting the question papers from the treasury/police custody to the center should be sent to the board.
33.
CCTV cameras should be installed in all centers and the camera model, device serial number, password and ID should be sent to the Examination Controller.
34.
Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination center with any watch other than a spiked chalk.
35.
From the centers from which answer sheets are sent by railway, the daily answer sheets must be sent by rail every day. If it cannot be sent by rail, it can be sent through the Bangladesh Postal Department.
