The low-budget film ‘Hanuman Ansh’, based on the life and teachings of the spiritual leader Baba Neem Karoli, has created history at the box office. The film’s global earnings have crossed the ₹200 crore milestone. To date, its worldwide gross collection stands at ₹205.15 crore, while its net collection in India is ₹173.63 crore.

However, the initial release of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ was far from smooth. Following its release, the number of screenings dropped to just 25 theaters due to the arrival of films like ‘Batwara 1947’ and ‘Awarapan 2’.

But after ‘Batwara 1947’ failed to perform as expected, the number of screenings for ‘Hanuman Ansh’ gradually began to rise. Simultaneously, audience interest in the film grew, and theaters started seeing larger crowds.

Meanwhile, director Vishal Chaturvedi has fallen ill due to the strain of the film’s extensive promotional campaign. Speaking about his future plans, Vishal mentioned that the Ganesh Festival is beginning in Mumbai; during the festival, he intends to visit various *pandal*s (marquees) to express his gratitude to ‘Bappa’ (Lord Ganesha).

The Story of ‘Hanuman Ansh’

Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ offers a fresh perspective on the life of the revered saint Baba Neem Karoli, whose birth name was Lakshman Narayan Sharma. Produced on a modest budget of ₹1.75 crore, the film’s story follows a young, grief-stricken Lakshman Narayan who embarks on a spiritual journey in search of God following his mother’s death.

He travels across various regions of North India seeking answers to profound questions about life, death, and human suffering. Eventually, he transforms into the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba. His teachings—rooted in love, service, and compassion—touched the lives of countless people.

Shobhinav Satya plays the lead role in the film. Joining him are Vihan Shedge, Chandan K. Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey, and Bhagwandas Patel.
