Due to unplanned urbanization and encroachment, like all over the country, the playgrounds of Habiganj city and its surroundings are disappearing. The fields that still remain are also shrinking and becoming unsuitable for sports. A huge human chain of cricketers and sportsmen has been held in Habiganj to demand the protection and reform of these fields. At the same time, a memorandum has been given to the advisor of the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Deputy Commissioner.

Habiganj District Cricket Players Welfare Association organized a human chain in front of the District Commissioner’s office yesterday Sunday (September 22). In addition to the cricket players, conscious people of various classes and professions of Habiganj participated.

No public or private structures can be built on the playground. Youth should be encouraged in mental and physical development by giving priority to sports in all areas.

Saleh Ahmed also said – the future of Bangladesh is in the hands of today’s youth. Due to the lack of playgrounds, the young society has become involved in various crimes including drugs, eve-teasing, juvenile gangs. If this situation continues, the dream of building a healthy nation in the future will remain only a dream. Adequate amount of playgrounds should be ensured all over the country including Habiganj without delay.

At the end of the human chain, a memorandum with the advisor of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Habiganj Deputy Commissioner Dr. Md. Faridur Rahman was handed over. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner praised Bhuyasi for raising the demand for the playground. He knows the details of Habiganj city and surrounding fields. He also assured that he will look into the matter with utmost importance.
