Indian sugar worth half a crore seized from Sylhet’s Surma Bypass area

48 Battalion Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) has seized a large quantity of illegal Indian sugar from a truck loaded with sand from Surma Bypass area of ​​Sylhet-Tamabil highway. The estimated value of which is about half a million rupees.

Jokiganj Battalion (19 BGB) has confirmed this information in a press release today, Monday (September 23) around eight o’clock.

According to the notification, the truck was seized by raiding Surma bypass area of ​​Sylhet-Tamabil highway. Later, during the search of the truck, Indian sugar worth about half a million rupees was recovered. The process of submitting the seized Indian sugar to the customs office is under process.

According to BGB, these operations are being conducted on the basis of secret information. The seized sugar is handed over to the Customs Department. Such operations are continuing to stop smuggling at the border.
