Police have arrested four smugglers, including Indian sugar invoice, on a separate raid on the Sylhet-Tamabil highway. They were detained with sugar from Bateshwar area around 8pm on Friday (September 23).

During the raid, the brother of a Chhatra Dal leader named Rufian Ahmed Sabuj alias Saddam of Kanugul village of Khadimpara union was also arrested.

The detainees are- Chhatra Dal leader Rufian’s brother Sufian Ahmed, Anjan Roy of Chikanagul Union area of ​​Jintapur upazila, Kalim Uddin of Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj and the deceased Lutfur Rahman, son of the deceased Lutfur Rahman of West Thakur upazila of Jintapur upazila. Alauddin.

Shahporan Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Indranil Bhattacharya said they were sent to court on Saturday (September 27) at noon.

It was reported that police seized the Indian sugar in a truck on Friday (September 27) at around 8pm on the Sylhet-Tamabil highway in Bateshwar area. Chhatra Dal leader Rufian’s brothers Sufian, Anjan Roy and Kalim Uddin were arrested.

Earlier on Friday, police searched the same area in the same area and seized the sack of smuggling sugar. Alauddin was arrested. However, the Chhatra Dal leader Sufian and truck driver Kamrul Islam, along with the shipment, escaped, police said.
