Question in BNP about the escape of killers and accomplices in the July mass coup

Dhaka //

The BNP has raised questions about the fact that the Awami League leaders who were accomplices in the July mass uprising and who are already accused in the murder case – such important people of Sheikh Hasina’s government, including ministers and members of parliament – have not been arrested yet.

The policy-making sources of the party said that some members raised questions on this issue in the BNP Standing Committee meeting on Tuesday night. They questioned the lack of arrests after two months of mass uprising.

A member of the Standing Committee said that they have already seen in various media that such an important person of the fallen Sheikh Hasina government, Minister-member of parliament has fled abroad. Some of them have been seen in various temples and parks in India. BNP leaders feel that even after the murder case, how these accused escaped, who helped them to escape, there are enough questions and concerns in the public mind.

According to a BNP policy-making source, the members also discussed the ongoing situation in the country, important institutional reforms and the upcoming national elections in Monday’s meeting. They want to understand in which direction the situation of the country is going. Apart from this, there are many questions among the policy-making leaders of BNP about how the interim government wants to reform, why the roadmap for reforms is not being given, when will the reforms take place.

None of the BNP standing committee members agreed to be quoted in this regard. However, a member of the standing committee, who did not wish to be named, told the media that they felt the need to discuss the current situation, reforms and elections with the interim government.

In the meeting presided over by BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman, besides Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Zamir Uddin Sarkar, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Ameer Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salauddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud. , Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and A Z M Zahid Hossain were present. Tariq Rahman joined online from London and Mirza Fakhrul, Amir Khosru and Iqbal Hasan from home and abroad.
