Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized illegal Indian goods worth about one and a half crore rupees from the border area of ​​Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet district.

On Wednesday (October 2), this huge quantity of goods was seized by conducting raids at various places including Sonatila and Pratappur of the upazila. The market value of which is approximately 1 crore 37 lakh taka.

Sylhet Battalion 48 BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter in a press release.

He said that based on secret information Sylhet Battalion 48 BGB raided Sonatila and Pratappur along the border of Gowainghat Upazila and other places and seized 863 bags of Indian sugar, 2 thousand 592 pieces of Indian Mycare cream, 1 thousand 458 pieces of sunglasses, 59 sarees, 766 pieces of Garnier face wash, 75 KG of instant tea, 142 bottles of liquor, 3 thousand 800 kg of Bangladeshi garlic and other goods were seized. Estimated market value is 1 crore 37 lakh 11 thousand 800 taka. These goods will be deposited at the local customs.
