Companyganj (Sylhet) Representative //
A policeman was killed in Sylhet-Companyganj road accident. The incident took place on Friday (October 4) evening in Salutikar area.
The deceased policeman is – SI Kazi Atiqur Rahman (36) working in Industrial Police Sylhet region.
It is known that Atiqur Rahman went to Gowainghat police station on a motorcycle for official work. On his way back, his motorcycle collided with a speeding pickup at Salutikar area. Atiqur Rahman died on the spot. A policeman who was with him was injured.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for postmortem. The pickup was impounded after the incident but the driver escaped.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Mohammad Saiful Islam has confirmed the truth of this matter.
