Tirtha Rudra, a student of Adarsh Degree College and higher secondary examinee, was hacked to death in Magura. His body was recovered from behind Darimagura Orphanage in Sadar Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. Nimai is the son of Rudra, the owner of Old Bazaar Rudra Store in Tirtha city.
The exact cause of the murder is not known, but the area is well known for its drug trade. The police are investigating whether there is any involvement of drugs behind this murder, like many murders in the past.
It is reported that on Monday night at 8:30, Tirtha Rudra left his house on Atar Ali road in the city with his used motorcycle. At that time four friends were waiting for him in front of the house. He left with them but did not return home for a long time, so the matter was reported to the police station around 1:30 am.
The family members could not reveal anything clear about the cause of death. Even though he left the house at night with the motorcycle, there was no trace of it.
Apart from this, the family members feel that the absence of four friends who were waiting in front of the house the previous night despite the news of his death and the fact that he suddenly left the house after leaving the exam at night is quite suspicious.
Nimai Rudra said, there is no dispute with anyone in our family. In the past, there was a dispute with two boys of the city about the mobile phone, but I don’t know if there will be a murder over it.
The Darimagura Doarpar area of the city is well known as a drug hotbed. Before this, in 2015, due to the spread of dominance related to drug trade, the incident of child shooting in the mother’s womb and the death of an Awami League activist named Momin Bhuiyan by a bomb, the death of a college student named Lisan due to the crossfire of a Chhatra League leader named Ajibar and the stabbing of a college student are quite discussed. The police are also looking into whether there is any drug connection behind this murder in the same area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Magura Sadar Police Station Sheikh Mehdi Russell said, initially the investigation was started based on the call list of mobile phones. We hope that it will be possible to identify who is involved in the murder very soon.
