Lakhai (Habiganj) Representative //

In Habiganj’s Lakhai Upazila, a human chain was held demanding the dismissal and arrest of Lakhai Upazila Education Officer Mahmudul Haque, who criticized the practice of veiling.

Yesterday, Saturday (12 October) this human chain was held at the upazila’s Kalauk road market at around 11:00 a.m. organized by the Conscious Citizen Society, Lakhai.
Under the chairmanship of scholar Misbah Uddin Sabuj, Muhtamim Maulana Abdul Hai of Muriyauk Daruchunnah Madrasa, Muhaddis Mufti Sharif Uddin, Maulana Ali Azam, Maulana Ashraful Islam Sohag, Maulana Mukhlishur Rahman, Mufti Mujahidul Islam Mahfuz, Maulana Delwar Hossain spoke No Abdal Hossain, Maulana Moinuddin, Maulana Faizul Islam Faizi, Hafez Junaid Ahmed, Mufti Hifzul Islam, Maulana Akram Hossain, Mohammad Shaheen Alam, Rafizul Islam, Waheed Murad etc.

As the speakers in the human chain mocked the Islamic religious veil system, the upazila education officer Mahmudul Haque was dismissed and immediately arrested and brought under the law and demanded an exemplary punishment subject to a fair investigation.

It is to be noted that a few days ago, when a teacher took a leave application to the upazila education officer’s office, it was spread on social media that the education officer taunted the teacher with a veil. Later, a commotion started over this.
