A large number of complaints have been received against Abul Hasim, joint secretary of the district Jubo Dal, for extorting money by disguising the names of top Jubo Dal activists and administration of Sylhet district and Jaintapur upazila.
It is known that for the past few months, Abul Hasim has been taking thousands of rupees from various sand and stone mahals and Tesco companies of Jaintapur upazila by breaking the names of top leaders and activists of Juba Dal. Also accompanying him is the rookie OC of Jaintapur Model Police Station and some unscrupulous extortionist gang members of Sripur Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB). This fact was found during the on-site investigation.
Meanwhile, in the review of multiple recording audio-video footage of the conversation that came to the hands of the reporter, the shocking information about extortion has come out. It can be seen that Abul Hasim is stealing money from the sand and stone mahal of the area adjacent to Resort No. 4 Sripur by breaking the names of police and BGB and party leaders. Alubagan is also collecting large sums of money from the contractors of Tesco company.
It is alleged that money was stolen from the Jaintapur cow market by breaking the name of the party’s rally-meeting. A part of money from Balu Mahal of Sari and Ferighat area also entered his pocket. No one is willing to protest for fear of attack and lawsuit.
Earlier, several leaders and workers of the Awami League government were running the business of extortion in these areas, but after the fall of the dictatorial Hasina government, hands changed hands and came to the said youth leader Abul Hasim. Currently, under his leadership, the reign of terror of extortion has been established. His other extortion companions are Kamal Ahmed, Raju, Farooq, Rafiq, Feroze and Amir Uddin. Even though they shared the money, Abul Hashim had to pay a large sum of money. Otherwise, the right roller was running on them. A person Amir Uddin himself admitted the truth of this to the reporter. He reigns alone in the sand-stone palace. Just when the interim Yunus government is desperate for the country, some unscrupulous extortionist gangs are emerging.
When Sylhet District Jubo Dal Leader Joint Secretary Abul Hasim was contacted over the phone, he avoided the issue of collection of subscription. He said he heard the complaint of extortion but he had no involvement in it. When talking to Amir Uddin about this, he admitted to giving donations and said that Abul Hashim used to take donations by breaking the names of top BNP leaders and activists in the district and upazila. He also said that he was afraid to protest.
When contacted on the official mobile phone of the OC of Jaintapur Model Police Station, he said that he does not know anyone named Abul Hasim. He said, if someone breaks the name, the matter will be looked into.
When talking to Sylhet District Jubo Dal leader and Acting Convener Advocate Muminul Islam Mumin on Mutophone (WhatsApp), he said that he has no such complaint. He also said that appropriate action will be taken if complaints are received.
Meanwhile, when the Sylhet District Superintendent of Police was contacted to inquire about the administrative action against the extortionists, no response was received as his phone was not answered.
