Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 has arrested Aftab Ali Kala Mia, general secretary of Sylhet’s Companyganj Upazila Awami League and former chairman of Telikhal UP Parishad.
He was arrested from East Dargah Gate area of Sylhet metropolis around 10:30 pm on Saturday (October 19).
Media officer of RAB-9 Senior ASP Moshihur Rahman Sohel said – there is a sabotage case against former UP Chairman Aftab Ali. He was allegedly involved in the violence that took place in South Surma of Sylhet during the students’ movement. After the arrest, the accused was handed over to the concerned police station.
