Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) has continued operations against smuggled goods in various border areas of Sylhet. Separate raids were conducted on Monday and Tuesday and recovered Indian goods worth about one and a half million rupees. 48 BGB captain Lt. Col. Hafizur Rahman (PSC) said that their separate team raided the border areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts on Monday and Tuesday and recovered 702 pieces of Indian sarees, 1 thousand 74 pieces of sunglasses, 629 meters of cotton cloth, 387 bottles of olive oil, 2 thousand 411 pieces of soap, 1 Various Indian contraband including trucks, 16 bottles of liquor, 4 beers, 1,185 kg of Bangladeshi garlic and 21 boats illegally quarrying stones were seized. The estimated value of these is 1 crore 62 lakh 92 thousand 570 taka.
