The teachers and students have gathered to demand the release of the arrested students and the trial of the killing of the students and the attack on the teachers and students centered on the quota reform movement. This rally was held separately in three stages at the base of DU’s unbeaten Bengal on Thursday. This morning at 10 a.m., public administration department of DU held a rally, then economics department, and finally another rally was held under the banner of anti-oppression teachers’ rally.
After that they took out a procession in adverse weather. The meeting ends at Shaheed Minar. Asif Nazrul, professor of law department in the program of anti-oppression teachers’ rally, said that the government will not prosecute this murder because the government itself is a murderer. Today the murderous army-murdering organization has been suspended from the highest levels of government. A murderer shall not judge a murderer. Attempts are being made to take the trial of murder to another sector. Genocide after genocide has been tried to cover up the world. This government is arresting victims of genocide after committing genocide and accusing them of genocide. Shame on this government.
Asif Nazrul commented that Bangladesh is being shot in the chest and said, We will not sit in peace leaving our students insecure. Our existence has been struck. Bangladesh has been shot in the chest. Youth is the heart of Bangladesh, this heart will be hurt, we will quietly accept it so that the government does not think about it.
Today there are demands for the resignation of the government, if the murder cannot be prosecuted, if the students cannot be given security, then they must resign. Tanjim Uddin Khan, professor of international relations department, said that in the last 54 years, we have created a DB of lies during the regime where the lies of the development spirit are exposed. They are broken. The movement that our students developed brought everyone together.
Professor Moinul Islam of the Department of Population Science said, “Today the police grabbed my student’s face.” Not allowing him to speak. Is this the Bangladesh we want to see? We talk about human rights, we talk about development, but our human rights are constantly being violated. We strongly condemn the attack on our colleague. Why Abu Saeed was shot dead directly in the chest while no action was taken against the police. Where did my democracy-human rights go?
