Ajmiriganj (Habiganj) Representative //
A young man was killed in a collision between two auto-rickshaws in Ajmiriganj upazila. The accident took place on Ajmiriganj-Shibpasha road in Shibpasha union of the upazila at 11 o’clock on Sunday, said OC ABM Maidul Hashan of Ajmiriganj police station.
The deceased Maqbul Hasan (35) is the son of freedom fighter Jalal Miar (Mankush), a resident of Nayanagar (Natunbari) in the capital.
Quoting locals, the OC said, “Maqbool used to run his family by selling pickles. In the morning, he left for Habiganj to sell pickles in a battery-powered auto-rickshaw. “He was seriously injured in a head-on collision with a CNG-powered autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction. ”
Later, the locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared him dead. The police prepared a report on the condition of the body and took the initiative to take further legal action including post-mortem.
