In Chunarughat upazila, a father of three named Kandu Karmakar (56) was handed over to the Thana police on the charge of molesting a 7-year-old child. The incident took place last Saturday evening in the Chanpur Joal Banga area of Deorgach Union of the upazila. The lustful Kandu Karmakar is the son of the deceased Shukra Karmakar.
According to local sources, the accused Kandu Karmakar lured the 7-year-old child inside the house and tried to rape her. At that time, hearing the screams of the child, the people around came forward and Kandu Karmakar tried to escape. The local people arrested the Kandu worker and washed him there and the child was rescued and taken to the Chunarughat police station. Later, the detained Kandu worker was handed over to the Chunarughat police station. Currently, the child is under treatment at Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
