A robbery has taken place at the house of food inspector Kiam Uddin in South Tilakpur village of Adampur union of Moulvibazar’s Kamalganj upazila. At 3:30 am on Wednesday morning, a group of 6 masked robbers entered the house by breaking the lock of the gate of the back porch and breaking the door of the house. Later, DB identified himself as a hostage and gathered the rest of the family members in a room and tied their hands and feet. The robbers looted 17 pieces of gold ornaments and cash worth Tk 25,000, including a diamond ring and a sketch from the house. When he shouted at everyone while leaving, he threatened to shoot everyone when he returned. Meanwhile, there has been an increase in cow theft, cow theft, and motorcycle theft in various places of Kamalganj police station.

Head teacher Hosne Ara, the wife of the food inspector, said that there was a family meeting at our house till 12 o’clock Monday night. After relatives leave, we sleep after eating. At around 3 o’clock in the night, a group of 6 masked robbers broke the door of our house, took me and my husband hostage at gunpoint, identified me as DB, and brought the rest of the members to a room and tied their hands and feet. Later 2 diamond rings in our house, 2 pairs of ear rings weighing 2 tons, 1 necklace weighing 2 tons, 1 pair of neck chain weighing 2 tons, 1 pair of bangles weighing 1 tons, 1 Manipuri Guti Mala weighing 2 and a half tons, 1 1 pair of heavy gold rings and 3 pairs of gold ear rings and about 5 of my brother-in-law’s gold and a total of 17 bags of gold and 25 thousand rupees in cash were looted. Before leaving, he threatened us that if anyone shouts halla, he will come back and shoot everyone. Adampur Union Chairman Abdan Hoson visited the scene after receiving the news of the incident.

Meanwhile, a police team headed by Shamim Akand, OC (Investigation) of Kamalganj police station, visited the spot after receiving information about the incident. During the conversation, Kamalganj Police Station OC (Investigation) Shamim Akanjee told The Daily Morning Sun that we visited the scene along with Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Anisuzzaman. Those involved in this incident will be found and brought under the law subject to investigation. Initially I think it was a planned attack. I can be more clear about this by talking to the victim of this incident. However, no written complaint has been received in the police station so far.
