Police have arrested a person on charges of raping a disabled minor in Srimangal of Moulvibazar district.
On Wednesday (November 13), a police team led by Srimangal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Aminul Islam and SI Subrata Chandra Das conducted a raid and arrested Dudu Mia (55), the accused in the rape case, from Mahajirabad Haram in Ashidron Union of the upazila.
The arrested Dudu Mia is the son of the deceased Abdul Latif of Mahajirabad Dakshin.
It is learned that the accused raped the disabled minor (15) alone at around 10 am on the previous day, November 12. Later, the victim’s family came to know about the matter and filed a complaint with Srimangal Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police conducted a raid and arrested the accused Dudu Mia.
Srimangal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Aminul Islam said that the arrested accused has been sent to jail through the Moulvibazar learned court.
