Two former RAB officers ordered to appear in International Crimes Tribunal

The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered the appearance of two former RAB officers in a case filed at the International Crimes Tribunal alleging numerous disappearances and torture during the previous Awami League government.

They are former Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohiuddin Farooqui and former Additional Superintendent of Police of Barisal Range Alep Uddin.

The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered them to appear in the case filed against them on Monday (December 2).

The two-member tribunal led by Justice Golam Mortuza passed the order. The matter was confirmed by International Crimes Tribunal Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim.

Prosecutor Tamim said that former Rangamati Training Center Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohiuddin Farooqui and Additional Superintendent of Police Alep Uddin of Barisal Range are in jail in the case of the death of Jobair Omar Khan at Shanir Akhra in the capital during the anti-discrimination student movement. I applied today to show them arrested in the case filed with the tribunal on the charges of disappearance.

He said that there are numerous allegations of disappearance and torture against them. The Disappearance Commission is investigating. The preliminary investigation of the Disappearance Commission has also found the truth. In view of the submission of the report to the tribunal, two applications were brought to the attention of the tribunal today. The tribunal has approved both applications. An order has been issued to present the two accused former RAB officers before the tribunal on December 2 (Monday).
