Major Hafiz warns India not to try to be lord because it has helped

Dhaka//

BNP Standing Committee member Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed Bir Bikram has expressed his gratitude to India for supporting Bangladesh during the Liberation War. At the same time, he warned India, don’t try to be lord because you have helped. Tried to be a friend of the people. BNP will maintain friendly relations with you (India) if it comes to power.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a discussion meeting at the auditorium of the National Press Club on Saturday afternoon.

The nationalist freedom fighter party organized the meeting to demand that Sheikh Hasina, who ordered the genocide in the student movement, be brought back to the country and Awami League banned.

Muktijoddha party president Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat chaired and general secretary Sadek Ahmed Khan moderated the discussion meeting BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Abdus Salam, Advocate Fazlur Rahman, Gana Adhikar Parishad Ekansh President Nurul Haque Noor, AB Party Joint Member Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, former Secretary General of Muktijoddha Command Council Naeem Jahangir and other leaders of the freedom fighters spoke. In the rally, 6 point demands were presented on behalf of the Muktojdha party.

Major Hafiz said, “After the liberation war, the students did not come to get the certificate. In 1971, the number of freedom fighters was 80 thousand. And now two and a half million freedom fighters have come. How come so many freedom fighters?

He said, “25 people were killed by shooting from the helicopter during the students’ movement. Bullets bought with public tax money. But when Myanmar attacked the border, I did not see a helicopter flying in Arakan.

Hafizuddin Ahmed said that the cantonment which has been done in the name of dictator Sheikh Hasina should be stopped immediately. This new member of the BNP Standing Committee said that Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury took oath as the Home Affairs Advisor in the interim government on Friday. He headed an inquiry into the BDR mutiny and killings. He accurately described the cause and solution. But this report did not see the light of day. We want the fact-finding report established under his leadership to be made public.”

Commenting that the role of the police force in the last 16 years is the worst in the history of the world, Hafiz said, “Many members of the police force have died, we do not support this.” Sheikh Hasina and Awami League are responsible for this. The leader of the BNP Standing Committee also called on the police to become the force of the people.

He also said, “I had a telephone conversation with the acting chairman of the party, Tariq Rahman, on Friday night.” Just said one thing, BNP will win this election. But we should not be Awami League, we should be Ziaur Rahman’s party. No extortion or corruption can be done while in power.

Major Hafiz also said, ‘We support the interim government. We want a proper outcome of this revolution. No stigma like Awami League can touch them.

Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson Advisor Zainul Abdin Farooq commented that Additional Commissioner of Police Haroon Or Rashid and Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar should be found. He said, ‘Harun – where is the revolution? They have to find out. Those who ordered the firing on this student movement should be found.
