School student dies in collision between two motorcycles in Jagannathpur

A school student died in a collision between two motorcycles in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district. One more person was injured in the incident.

The incident took place at around 6:30 pm on Thursday (January 2) between Kondanala and Darakhai bridges in Jagannathpur upazila.

The deceased teenager, Tahfimul Hasan Abir (14), is the only son of Md. Amir Hossain of Haldarkandi village in Shantiganj upazila and a student of Jagannathpur Swaroop Chandra Government High School. The deceased Abir lived with his family in a rented house in Jagannathpur municipality. His father is a library businessman in Jagannathpur Bazar and his mother is a school teacher, Sultana Jahan Nila.

According to police and local sources, Abir and his uncle Abu Taleb were coming from their village Haldarkandi to Jagannathpur on a motorcycle. On the way, two motorcycles lost control and collided between Kondanala and Darakhai bridges. Abir and Taleb were injured in this. The seriously injured Abir was taken to Jagannathpur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Officer-in-charge of Jagannathpur Police Station Ruhul Amin said that a post-mortem report has been prepared. After giving primary treatment to the injured Abu Taleb, he was taken to Jagannathpur Police Station for questioning. The body has been kept in the cold storage of Jagannathpur Health Complex.
