A group of land grabbers have blocked the road on the banks of the Era in Machulia Mouza of Habiganj Sadar Upazila. This is disrupting the movement of people in that area. Many are walking in mud and water. This has caused various problems for people, including school and college students. The locals have filed complaints with the Deputy Commissioner, Upazila Executive Officer and various departments to remove the obstacles on the road.
The complaint states that Md. Shamsuzzaman, the son of the deceased Abdul Hekim of Mahmuda area, a Jubo League leader and an accused in the anti-discrimination movement, along with his team, forcibly fenced and created obstacles on the roads of the locals on the banks of the Era. The locals are fearing a bloody clash at any time.
It is learnt that they will submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard. Strict action will be taken if the obstacles on the road are not removed immediately.
