The hanging body of Al Amin, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Jajira Police Station in Shariatpur, has been recovered.
The body was recovered from his room on the third floor of Jajira Police Station building around 1 pm on Thursday.
Shariatpur Police Lines Hospital doctor Dr. Monirul Islam confirmed the matter.
He said that the body was found hanging with a towel wrapped around his neck. Initially, it is believed that OC Al Amin committed suicide. However, the real cause of death will be known after the autopsy.
The news of the recovery of the OC’s body has created a sensation in the area. An eager crowd and media personnel have gathered at the police station.
Confirming the matter, District Superintendent of Police Nazrul Islam said, “We have recovered the body from a room in the police station building after receiving the news. Initially, it is believed that he committed suicide. However, the real cause of the incident is not known. The rest can be confirmed after the autopsy.”
