A youth festival, pitha mela, debate competition and cultural program were organized at Srimangal Government College in Moulvibazar.

The Pitha Mela was inaugurated by the acting principal of Srimangal Government College, Professor A,B,M Mokhlesur Rahman, at 10 am on Thursday (January 9).

Present at the event were Sudarshan Shil, head of the Mathematics Department and associate professor of Srimangal Government College, Head of the Bengali Department and convener of the program, Md. Saiful Islam, General Secretary of the Teachers’ Council Bijon Chandra Debnath, Professor Md. Mujibur Rahman and associate professor Suranjit Kilikder.
Sudarshan Shil, head of the Mathematics Department and associate professor, said that the day-long Pitha Utsav was organized to introduce the young generation to the local culture and winter traditions. College students decorated the stalls with various designs of pithapuli. Students from the Bengali Department, Economics Department, History Department, Mathematics Department, Political Science Department, English Department, Management Department, 11th, 12th, Rover Scout, Youth Red Crescent, BNCC Platoon and others decorated more than 100 types of pithapuli at 12 stalls at the fair.
