The 47th annual Waz Mahfil of the traditional religious institution Jamia Islamia Madrasatul Ulum Darul Hadith Haripur Bazar Madrasa, established by Mujahideen Millat Hazrat Allama Sheikh Abdullah (R.A.) in Jaintapur, Sylhet, has been held.

On Wednesday (January 15) from 10 am to the next day, the chief guest of the Madrasa ground, under the chairmanship of the Muhtamim of Haripur Bazar Madrasa, Shaykh Maulana Hilal Ahmed, presented a speech, Munazir-e-Islam Shaykhul Hadith wat Tafsir Allama Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Mengal Hafizahullah (Pakistan), Shaykhul Hadith Allama Alimuddin Durlabhpuri Hafizahullah (Bangladesh-Sylhet), Awlad-e-Rasul Sa’d. Shaykhul Hadith Syed Affan Mansurpuri Hafizahullah (India), Wali Kamil, Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Rashidur Rahman Farooq Baruni Hafizahullah (Bangladesh-Sylhet), Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Mizanur Rahman Sayed Hafizahullah (Bangladesh-Dhaka) and others.

Also presenting the speech are renowned Waiz Hazrat Maulana Abdul Basit Khan Siraji Hafizahullah, Shaykhul Hadith Hazrat Maulana Abdul Baten Qasemi Hafizahullah (Dhaka), Khatib-e-Sirat Maulana Munawar Ahmad Mahmoodi (Pakistani), Shaykhul Hadith Haripur Bazar Madrasa Maulana Abdul Qadir (Bagerkhali), Muhtamim Mufti Zillur Rahman (Qasemi) of Darul Uloom Hemu Madrasa, along with renowned local and foreign Ulema-Mashaykhs.

Also present and speaking as guests were former General Secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan BNP and candidate for the post of Member of Parliament from Sylhet-4 constituency Badruzzaman Selim, OC of Jaintapur Model Police Station, and political and social leaders from various levels of the area.

Thousands of devout Muslims from various districts and upazilas including Jaintapur, Gowainghat, Companyganj, Kanaighat and Sylhet Sadar participated in this historic annual Waz Mahfil.

Cash donations raised in the said Waz Mahfil were 80,40,266/- (eight lakh forty thousand two hundred and sixty six taka).
