A young man named Loknath Banik (22) died in a collision between a truck standing on the road in the Wejkhali area of Sunamganj Municipality. The tragic accident occurred on Thursday evening.
The deceased young man is the son of Pradeep Banik of the Madhya Bazar area of the municipality.
According to police and eyewitness sources, a CNG collided with a truck standing on the Sylhet-Sunamganj road in the Wejkhali area at around 6 pm. At this time, Loknath Banik, the passenger of the CNG, was seriously injured and was taken to Sadar Hospital with the help of locals, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Sunamganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam admitted the truth of the accident and said that he has received information that a young man was killed in a collision between a truck standing on the road and a moving CNG. The body is in the hospital. He said the body would be handed over to the family after taking further legal action.
