An emergency meeting and protest march have been held in the greater Haripur Pargana to protest the insulting status posted on social media Facebook by a person named Jamal Hussain, a resident of Bardesh Uttar area of ​​Banigram Union No. 7 of Kanaighat Upazila and currently residing in Shahparan Shanti Bhag area, about the late Mujahideen Millat Hazrat Allama Sheikh Abdullah (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) Haripuri, a traditional son of Haripuri in Jaintapur, Sylhet.

On Friday (January 31), at around 3 pm, at the Haripur Bazar Madrasa ground, under the joint management of the madrasa’s teacher Joynal Abedin and Mufti Huzaifa Al Hilal, an emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shaykh Maulana Nurul Haque (Zakiganji), and the following were present and spoke: Abdul Matin, former chairman of Fatepur Union Parishad No. 5 and a prominent religious scholar, former chairman Abdur Rashid, current chairman Rafiq Ahmed, former vice chairman of Upazila Parishad Muhibul Haque Muhib, Haripur Bazar Madrasa’s Muhtamim Maulana Shaykh Hilal Ahmed, Hemu Madrasa’s Mufti Zillur Rahman, prominent religious scholar Abdul Hamin, among others.

Also present and speaking at the event were Jaintapur Model Police Station OC, Advocate Mohammad Ali, former chairman of Baro Chatul Union of Kanaighat Upazila Abul Hossain, former vice chairman of Upazila Parishad Shahad Uddin Saddam, eminent cleric Hossain Mia, former president of Haripur Bazar Committee Helal Ahmed, Md. Abdullah, eminent cleric Maulana Qutub Uddin, Maulana Qutub Uddin Sikder, Alhaj Ala Uddin, Alhaj Ludai Mia, youth leader Anwar Hossain, former U/P member Abdul Matin, eminent cleric Faruk Ahmed, eminent businessman and former organizing secretary of Haripur Bazar Business Committee Abdul Mutlib, Ali Haider Saymon, Zakaria Mahmud, Rumel Ahmed, Yahya Ahmed, former U/P member Joynal Abedin, student leader Zahir Raihan, Sueab Ahmed, Jamal Uddin, Rumel Ahmed and other social and political leaders of the greater Haripur area and the Touhidi people of all walks of life.

A meeting has been called for next Monday at the Madrasa ground with all the Maymurubbis of the greater 17 Parganas, including all the Touhidi people. The speakers present warned of a strict program movement if the miscreant does not come to the public and apologize.

Then at 8 pm, the Touhidi people of greater Haripur protested against the derogatory status of Sheikh Abdullah Rahma Haripuri, starting from the Haripur Bazar Madrasa ground to the Tamabil Highway in Haripur Bazar. The meeting ended with a huge demonstration lasting an hour in the presence of thousands of people.
