BNP-like-minded meeting, calling for a roadmap for fair elections including resolution of the crisis

BNP has started discussing the current situation with like-minded parties and alliances that are in simultaneous movement after the mass uprising of the students.

On Sunday, the Liyozon Committee of the party held a meeting with 12 party alliances and nationalist like-minded alliances. The leaders agreed to cooperate with the interim government to solve the crisis in the country. At the same time, the interim government was called upon to announce the roadmap for fair elections at a reasonable time.

Nazrul Islam Khan, Head of Liaison Committee and Member of Standing Committee, held a meeting with 12 party alliance and Nationalist Samamna Alliance separately at BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday evening. Begum Selima Rahman, another standing committee member of the party, was present in the meeting.

Later in the press conference, Nazrul Islam Khan called upon the interim government to announce a roadmap for fair election environment and solving the ongoing crisis of the people. He said that the countrymen are urged to be cautious about all the evil activities of the deposed and fugitive government against the country and the people in the student uprising.

Nazrul Islam Khan said that the people of Bangladesh were affected by the sudden heavy flood due to the opening of the sluice gate of the Tripura dam without warning. In view of these considerations, the government is urged to review the flow of all rivers and the response of the constructed dams and take necessary measures accordingly. He also said that in the meeting, BNP and all the parties of the 12-party alliance are doing their best to help the flood. It has been decided to further increase this activity. The people of the country have been called to unite to help the flood victims.

12 party alliance leader and chairman of Jatiya Party (Zafar) Mustafa Jamal Haider said that the current interim government and we who are its allies are struggling to deal with the various problems left by the dictatorial government. Just then a natural calamity, the worst flood in memory hit us.

Shahadat Hossain Salim of Bangladesh LDP, Syed Ehsanul Huda of Bangladesh National Party, Mufti Golam Mohiuddin Ikram of Jamiat Ulamae Islam Bangladesh, Advocate Shah Mohammad Badal of Alternative Dhara Bangladesh, Rashed Pradhan of Jatiya Gontantrik Party (JAGPA), Bangladesh Labor Party were also present in the meeting.
